Thomas J. Foley, Jr.
Thomas J. Foley, Jr., is a native of Scranton. Mr. Foley has established a reputation as one of the most recognized and respected medical malpractice and personal injury lawyers in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States, with over 40 years of professional experience and multiple settlements and awards of one million dollars or more to his credit. Prior to being admitted to the Pennsylvania State Bar in 1961, Mr. Foley attended the University of Scranton (B.S., 1957) and Temple University (L.L.B., 1960). Upon completing his studies at Temple University, he served as Law Clerk to Justice Michael J. Eagen, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, for two years and as Assistant Attorney General for a further year. He was a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania from 1972 to 1978 and a Trustee for both the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Political Action Committee (1978-2002) and the American Association For Justice Political Action Committee (1999-2002). From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Foley was a member of and Incorporator of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Historical Society and served as a Trustee from 1991-2000.

John T. McLane
Attorney John T. McLane also completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Scranton where he received a B.S. cum laude in 1970. In 1973, he entered the School of Law of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, from where he graduated cum laude with a J.D. in 1975. While attending Duquesne University, Attorney McLane served as the Associate Editor for the Duquesne Law Review (1974-1975) and won the Ben Paul Brasley Award for his performance in the Appellate Moot Court Competition. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. McLane spent two years as a Law Clerk for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. From 1977 to 1980, he served as Administrative Assistant to the Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, the honorable Michael J. Eagen.
Attorney McLane was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in 1976; the U.S. Court of Appeals, for the Third Circuit, in 1985; the U.S. Supreme Court in 1992; and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2004. Michael J. Foley
Michael J. Foley brings over 20 years of professional experience to the Foley Law Firm. He began his education at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, graduating with a B.A. in History in 1980. He then went on to earn his J.D. at the Duquesne University School of Law in 1983. In the year following his graduation from Duquesne, Mr. Foley served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert N.C. Nix, Jr., Chief Justice of Pennsylvania. In 2004 he became a fellow for the National College of Advocacy. In 2002, Mr. Foley was appointed to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission on Venue.
Mr. Foley's excellence in law has been formally recognized on several occasions, in 1999 when he received the Special Achievement Award for the AAJ Annual Convention, and in 2004 and 2005 when Philadelphia Magazine named him a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. He currently focuses his practice on medical malpractice, civil litigation, and products liability.

In January 2001, Mr. Foley obtained the first million dollar jury verdict in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, in the Pasternak v. Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Foley has acted as amicus curiae counsel for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer's Association in Zieber v. Bogart, M.D., (rejecting extension of "two disease rule" to medical malpractice cases); and co-author of PAAJ's brief in Kroken v. Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania, Inc., (upholding Insurance Commissioner's authority to require arbitration clauses UM/UIM disputes) and for The American Association For Justice, and The Workplace Injury Litigation Group, Inc. in American Manufacturer Mutual Insurance Co. v. Sullivan, in the United States Supreme Court (court rejected constitutional challenge to automatic supersedes provisions of utilization review of medical expenses).
Mr. Foley submitted written testimony to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on April 16, 2003 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, entitled "It is An Elementary Principle of Justice that Victims of Medical Malpractice Deserve Full Compensation For Life-Altering Injuries."
Mr Foley has been a plaintiff attorney invitee in national medical malpractice conference including "Creating a Malpractice Liability System to Improve Patient Safety," sponsored by the Kaiser Permanente Policy Institute, The Milbank Memorial Fund, and the Reforming States Group in San Francisco, California in January, 2003, and the National Patient Safety Foundation Joint Medical-Legal Conference funded by the United States Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality held at Southern Methodist University Law School in Dallas, Texas, in October, 2003.
In 1983, Mr. Foley was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; and in 1999, he was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Michael J. McDonald
Over the course of more than 25 years as a courtroom attorney, Michael J. McDonald has earned a reputation as one of the most active and esteemed personal injury lawyers in Northeast Pennsylvania. He has successfully tried many types of cases, ranging from motor vehicle accidents to medical malpractice, and has been trial counsel in some of the largest verdicts and settlements in this area of Pennsylvania.
He has had the great honor of being chosen for certification and/or membership in several prestigious national organizations, including the National Board of Trial Advocacy (certified in 1992, recertified in 1997 and 2002), the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has also recently been selected by the Philadelphia Magazine as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" for 2004 and 2005.

A graduate of Villanova University (B.A., 1976) and the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University (J.D.,1979), he was upon graduation awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for distinguished achievement in Trial Advocacy. Following graduation he returned to Scranton to concentrate his legal career on trying civil cases in court. In 1979 he was admitted to practice before all courts in Pennsylvania as well as the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania. In the years since completing law school, Mr. McDonald has been repeatedly selected to lecture fellow lawyers in both the civil litigation and courtroom advocacy by various organizations. Thomas J. Foley, III
Prior to being admitted to the bar in 1982, Thomas J. Foley, III graduated from the American University in Washington D.C. (Bachelor of Arts, 1979, Economics and International Studies), and the University of Pittsburgh (Juris Doctorate, 1982).
Following his graduation from law school in 1982, Mr. Foley served for two years as a Law Clerk, first to President Judge James C. Crumlish, Jr., of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, and then to Justice Nicholas P. Papadakos of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. After completing his clerkships, Mr. Foley joined the Dilworth, Paxson Law Firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the litigation department, and became a partner in the firm. While at the Dilworth Firm, Mr Foley primarily litigated complex business and contract cases, including cases involving construction contracts, corporate takeovers, law firm breakups, oil lease royalties, and executive employment contracts. In 1991, Mr. Foley decided to return to northeastern Pennsylvania with the Foley Law Firm to open the firm's Stroudsburg office.
Among his noteworthy accomplishments, Mr. Foley successfully tried an unusual case which resulted in his client being awarded one half of a $4.4 million Pennsylvania Lottery jackpot, the winning lottery ticket having been jointly purchased by his client and another person, but which had been claimed by the other person to be his alone. The case was the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, and it received a great deal of media attention. It also received attention in the legal community and resulted in his being invited to lecture on equity practice for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the educational arm of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Foley also has been selected by Philadelphia Magazine as a "Pennsylvania Super Lawyer" from 2004 through 2007. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Mr. Foley is admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Kevin P. Foley
In 1983, Kevin P. Foley graduated with a B.S. in accounting from the University of Scranton. He then went on to complete his law studies at the Dickinson School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1988. From 1988 to 1989, he served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James T. McDermott, Justice, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. In 1990, he obtained a Diploma in Trial Advocacy from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He has since achieved multiple settlements and awards in excess of one million dollars as part of the Foley Law Firm.
Since 1998, Mr. Foley has served on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and in 2005 was elected to the Board's Executive Committee. He also has been a member of the Judicial Relations, Legislature Network, Education and Membership Committees. Mr. Foley had also served as a member of the Lackawanna County Civil Rules Committee, 2000-2001. Malcolm L. MacGregor
Malcolm MacGregor offers over fifteen years of experience in the trial and settlement complex personal injury cases. A graduate of the University of Scranton, earning a B.A. in Communications - Business Cognate in 1986. He then went on to complete his legal studies, earning his Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, Washington, D.C. in 1989. A skilled lawyer, Mr. MacGregor handles medical malpractice, automobile, personal injury, and product liability cases as well as worker's compensation for the Foley Law Firm. Mr. MacGregor has obtained some of the firm's largest settlements and verdicts, including multiple settlements on behalf of victims in excess of one million dollars.

Michael J. Eagen, Jr.
Michael J. Eagen, Jr., contributes nearly 35 years of professional experience to the Foley Law Firm. Prior to being admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1970, Mr. Eagen attended the University of Scranton (B.S., 1965) and Temple University (J.D., 1970). From 1970 to 1971, he served as a Law Clerk in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Eagen has taught as an Associate Professor at the University of Scranton and Pennsylvania State University, as well as serving as a Solicitor for the Coroner's Office. He had been an Attorney-Examiner for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board from 1971 - 1990.
Mr. Eagen is a member of several professional organizations, including the Million Dollar Advocate Forum; the Lackawanna County, Monroe County, and Pennsylvania Bar Associations; the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer Association; and the American Association For Justice.
